Boy o Boy, This is much harder than I thought. I picked up a Belkin F5D7010 ver.6000 and it has a RaLink RT2561/RT61 802.11 PCI. This could take the rt61 driver legacy or the rt2x00. I'm using Debian Testing etchand the kernel is 2.6.16 but to build the rt2x00 it takes 2.6.17 which is suppose to be the target default kernel for testing but it is not there as an image. I build the rt2500 code and the module loads and the card shows up as sit0. sit0 Link encap:IPv6-in-IPv4 inet6 addr: ::10.0.0.3/96 Scope:Compat inet6 addr: ::127.0.0.1/96 Scope:Unknown UP RUNNING NOARP MTU:1480 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) I have no idea how to iwconfig so I could just look around for access points (AP) or anything. I'm clueless and I don't have an AP. Anyway, Happy Hacking.
