Alan, When I did my install I had to use the escape when grumb started to boot. At that I got a screen that asked text mode and that worked for me. This confuses installers with only CentOS seeming to handle it well. When booting the Kubuntu CD, it trys to fire up X and ends up with the Kubunto logo on the screen and no other access possible on that screen. I can Ctl-Alt-F1 to a terminal and get access that way. However, I don't know what commands I can issue to start a non-graphical install. People in the #ubuntu channel are trying to help but seem to be knowledge stuck in a GUI only world. I have not yet found an answer in the Ubuntu forums or documentation. How do I do a non-graphical install when booting from a Kubuntu CD?
