I have used both, but I haven't found a compelling reason to chose one over the other. The graphics gizmo's in OpenSuse 10.1 are cool, but not much more. It is just a matter of personal preference in my opinion. -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-bounces@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us] On Behalf Of Josh Coffman Sent: Monday, August 14, 2006 10:13 AM To: alandd@consultpros.com; Main PLUG discussion list Subject: OpenSuse 10.1 VS Fedora Core 5 (split from Re: OpenSUSE 10.1) Hi, Alan mentioned in another thread that OpenSuse has been a nice change from FC5 despite the update problems. I've been in the Fedora boat since I migrated (mostly) to linux last year. I'm really curious how they compare, and what problems people have had with FC5. Suse was one of the distro's I was close to picking before going with FC. FC5 has been largely a big improvement from FC4 from my experience. It auto-detected pretty much everything on my HP laptop. Even the wifi works now thanks to the bcm43xx drivers. (NDISWrapper worked for me before bcm43xx.) What about OpenSuse 10.1 is worth dumping FC5? And what about waiting for FC6? -j __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
