do you think the Kernal could be the problem? I'm not sure since it works with Red hat 7.3 which uses the 2.4 kernal and it recongnizes all 300 gigs. Worth giving a shot. How do I get it to use the 2.6 Kernal upon install? thanks for the help Ben By default, Debian Sarge uses a 2.4 kernel, but if you pass at boot time this option: boot: linux26 it will boot a 2.6 kernel, which supports more modern hardware. -Scott Ben Coffman wrote: >I bought a 300gig hard drive and when I try to install the Debian that I >downloaded earlier this week from debian.org it only lets me see about half >of that 300gig, but if I use redhat 7.3 it lets me see the entire hard >drive. > >Is there something in Debian that I don't know about that only lets me use >a limited hard drive size? > >Ben > >_________________________________________________________________ >Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
