You could try to track down your sendmail first. For example: # which mail /bin/mail # strings /bin/mail | grep sendmail [- sendmail-options ...] /usr/sbin/sendmail # ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 21 Apr 21 23:38 /usr/sbin/sendmail -> /etc/alternatives/mta # ls -l /etc/alternatives/mta lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 27 Apr 21 23:38 /etc/alternatives/mta -> /usr/sbin/sendmail.sendmail Also you have to make sure your syslogger is even logging.
