Next (related<?>) problem  with this:

My 'Documents' directory is empty 'unless' I am viewing it through the 'save 
as' window. The directory and contents of it are now 777 and I still can't 
view anything (with a terminal emulator or with a gui). Anyone else ever had 
this problem?Please share how you resolved it.
