well, if one doesn't want to be on a lot of mailing lists, that is fine. 
i also limit how many mailing lists i am on, mostly they are canine 
related. i can appreciate how overwhelming it can be. however, if it 
(the new list) becomes useless, meandering and/or OT, it will become 
defunct on its lack of merits.

i, for one, am looking forward to lurking on an app list, as i have 
learned a lot from the shining stars around on the plug list and will 
probably have the same experience on the new list.
