-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have a video file in WMV 8 format. I need to extract the audio from it. Anyone know how to do that on Linux, of course? I don't mind a couple of conversion steps, like going to mpeg first and then stripping the audio out with Avidemux, for example. I just can't seem to find the tool that will convert out of WMV. I can play the file on my computer courtesy of MPlayer, Xine or VLAN. If I can play it, I should be able to separate the audio out. I'd rather not use the sound card capture drivers since the data is already there. Alan PS Just to preclude too much copyright discussions, I have full permission to do this with the video. It is a recording of a 2003 high school band performance. The person who recorded it provided all rights to the band organization of which I am now a volunteer. Discuss if you like but copyright is not an issue in this case. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.7 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFD8UsaDQw/VSQuFZYRAsvwAJ9PZdAHtV3TWHht9Z3Bs8M+pO6aWQCeKqFl Tj8ya+I0aCJCk7HV6LbL05c= =dO73 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
