I just searched the Debian apt-cache for 'midi' and found three
different ones (and I have no idea what a sequencer is- there may be
more without 'sequencer' on the description line):

Package: muse

 and IT-like effects.

 Each track (MIDI channel) is subdivided in columns of it's on, so this adds

 implemented in the usual way, while the effect column understands most

"playmidi" is what I use on the rare time I want to hear a midi file.
