No. A DVD must be specially formatted for your player to read it. Ignoring the possibility of your player "not liking" your burned DVDs, making a copy with K3B should be easy as pie. I checked my K3B which is version 0.11.14. Open it and look to the menus at the top. Click Tools->DVD->Copy DVD... and just use the defaults in the dialog. That should be it.
