It is the SL-6000. > Are they still available? I thought sharp had pulled all its linux-based > handhelds off the .us market. Sharp is not shipping any new Linux-based handhelds to the .us market. They can be found on ebay, etc. with varying frequency. As I recall, these are the models: SL-5500D - "Pre-release" Developer version. Has 16MB(?) flash memory. SL-5500 - Full release version. Same as 'D' with 32MB memory. SL-5600 - Next release. Evolution of the product. 64MB memory, faster processor, better screen and other small improvements. SL-6000 - A real step up. Faster processor, double screen resolution, lots of memory, built-in 802.11b, USB host, physically larger, supposed to be drop damage resistant, etc. 5500D and 5500 are easily available on ebay for <$150. 5600 a little harder to come by and <$250. 6000 has dropped off the net as I have not seen one for sale on ebay since last Christmas time. Maybe they are new enough and/or good enough that no one wants to sell them. <$500, as I recall but were going for as much as $600+ last Christmas. No, I don't own one but I bet you can guess that I wish I did!
