The oddball refresh rates are going to make for eye strain, but probably aren't why SuSE looks "ugly." SaX2 is the configuration tool that SuSE uses to configure the X server. In the properties of your monitor, you can adjust the refresh rates. As always, exercise extreme caution when doing so. Editing the config file directly is not recommended. SuSE wants you to use YaST and SaX2 for everything... I have noticed that the font sizes can get squirrelly in SuSE, with the nVidia driver. I think what you might need to do is go into the advanced options for your monitor, in SaX2 and set the CheckDesktopGeometry appropriately for your monitor. I have also noticed that SuSE seems to do some weird things with font sizes with the nVidia driver... I hope you are able to get it working to your liking. :) -Erik On 5/18/05, Siri Amrit Kaur wrote: > On Wednesday 18 May 2005 11:12 am, Fritz wrote: > > Is there any way to directly control the refresh rate using YaST? > > Do I have to manually recompute new "Modelines" in xorg.conf? > > I don't know Suse well, but are you using KDE?
