I seem to remember having segregated topic lists, like the developers list. And the discussion list was just that; a list for general discussion. Perhaps we should have enough discipline to use the lists we already have... But then again, the last time I posted to the security list no one answered. So several days latter I repeated my query to the discussion list and received a bevy of replies in hours... More lists, like more laws, are rarely the answer if people are unwilling to work with what they already have. Just my thought on the subject.... Then again I think Allen has made a very good point on frequency and tolerance. And Joseph made an astute observation on the core of offence being political in nature.. Perhaps instead of creating a new general discussion list we create a political discussion list. Would this forma of compromise work? If so perhaps it can be done, but if any one posts a "Take it to the political list because it does not belong here" reply I expect the same thing to be done for any and all development questions, security questions, etc. Fair?
