I don't know how far you are willing to go to ease your job. But, there are a few other CMS'es out there that allow you to use flat files instead of Db/MySQL, www.limbo-cms.com is a derivative of Mambo and is open-source, but requires that the server run PHP. Very nice set-up. flatcms.pku-info.org is a simple flat file cms that is very quick and easy to work with, but also requires that the server run PHP. very easy to use.
