I am open to shopping suggestions. I've used both Antec and Sparkle and recommend both. Like JD, I check out reviews at Tom's hardware. Their reviews on power supplies led me to buy an Antec True Power. Well worth the money, IMO. It isn't just the total watts, but how the power is allocated for the devices you want to run. Check how much is allocated for +12v, +5v, etc, and see what your drives and fans require. I don't remember the details, but the Antec was best for all my fans. It also has smooth delivery of power and is totally silent. According to Tom's, a lot of PS's lie about their power on the labels. Antec is honest. Less expensive but also good and reliable are the Sparkle power supplies. I read somewhere that some of the expensive name brands are rebranded Sparkles. A good PS makes all the difference sometimes. It's a very underappreciated component. Cheap computers are cheap because they scrimp on the PS. My rule is software BAD, theory BAD; administrative chores BAD, Hardware GOOD!
