IIRC it ignores the filesystem entirely (almost entirely by the looks of the manpage) and reads a dd of the device. So first you dd the entire CF to a file ... then run the tool on that file ... it then looks for headers and footers of certain file types that it identifies in the /etc/foremost.conf file ... you comment out the filetypes you know you aren't looking for in that file. thats about it for foremost. Bills advice (later in the thread) provides the instructions for DDing. I don't recall how to use the tct lazarus tool ... A hex editor (khexedit is nice) will work too if you are desparate ... although it really sucks.
