It is time to add a page to the PLUG web site: Linux Rules of Thumb.

Let them be indexed like an old BASIC program.

RULE 10: Never buy hardware for a Linux system unless you have checked the 
hardware compatibility list.

RULE 11: Rule 10 does not apply to legacy hardware acquired at not cost to 
yourself.
