The machine I run here is a 486/66 (someone else beat me for old machines in this thread with a 486/33) just rebuilt into a slackware box due to a failing hard drive. It runs nat/firewall/dns and nothing more. Still it has almost a 300mb install. An interesting project that I haven't had a chance to put into use yet is the FREESCO (Free Cisco http://freesco.org) router project that boots from a floppy and supports 10 network devices.
