moin, moin, borrowed a cable and I can talk to the 678! Don't know the password, but 'es 6' worked. OK, so now I have a 'cbos>' prompt. http://www.qwest.com/dsl/customerservice/win678dmt.html That makes it look like I just need xmodem capabilities to upload the new firmware. The win32 software seems to be for configuring the 678. Isn't there a command line interface on the 678 console? According to http://www.deru.com/ciscosetup.html and the email that they did in fact send me there is :). So, here's hoping the firmware upgrade works. ciao, der.hans -- # https://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.AZOTO.org/ # Nobody grows old merely by living a number of years. # We grow old by deserting our ideals. # Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm # wrinkles the soul. -- Samuel Ullman --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
