I personal do not like monitor repair (it takes forever) but this could be a
simple case of a loos conection.
1) how reposive it it to brightness and contrast controles?
2) does it scream, whail, or otherwise emite irtiating sounds (Mine screams
whenever I put it on a realy high setting and it is warm... and while my wife
can't hear it it drives the cat and I nuts...  So much for 1280 x 756 @ 80Hz

 3) does degusing or changing the settings (size/collor) affect
its behavior? 4) does it behave the same on a difrent machine?
5) does it only do this after before/warming up? (I am talking literal
expansion causeing heat here)
6) do you ever smack it, at does that effect anything (like the hue, if not
the brightness)

It could be something easy to fix, or it could be time to get a new
monitor...  And while most of mine last five-six years with now trouble, and
several are noy over ten years and going strong, problems do arise and it may
be time to replace it anyway....
