I don't know what's stable > (enough) and what isn't. I use sid on all of my workstations. I would have to say its more a labor of love than convenient. Don't get me wrong. It works well and gets the goodies pretty quick. But its not hard for something to go wrong (even just for a day or so) and leave you hanging. It could make for an unpleasant experience for a newbie.
