Why are you wanting to install the "Live" CD? The packs I got from Ubuntu each had -->two<-- CDs: a "Live" CD and an "Install" CD. I haven't had a chance to play with them yet, but I assume that the live CD corresponds to Knoppix and it's ilk--a "run from CD" version, while the install CD is for installing to the HD. Mepis is unique in that it manages to combine the two functions (live & install) rather nicely. I've not seen another distro that does it as well. -mj- Mikey wrote: > Well, I would say that THIS disqualifies it for being an installfest distro. > And I had such high hopes! > Mepis all the way. > > On Sunday 30 January 2005 16:07, June Tate wrote: > >>The LiveCD of Ubuntu is not to be used for installation with -- more for >>evaluation of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. > > > > I think a distribution that is easy to install needs to be a requirement. > Mepis is that. > > >>There _are_ ways, however, >>of installing it, though I can't tell you what those ways might be as >>I've never attempted them myself. >>The Ubuntu community Wiki, however, might contain a few suggestions. >>https://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/ > > > --------------------------------------------------- > PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us > To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: > http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss > --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
