First off it can only read. Second ... even if you use the correct schema ... I used the one here: http://www.netpress.com/mozilla/ab2ldap_1/mozilla_op20.schema Thunderbird doesn't correctly see all of the attributes. Even if you export the addressbook entry to ldif ... and load that straight into LDAP it won't read fields that were previously present. From reading that bug report it does appear to be getting attention.
