My 2 cents #1: Recently the AZ republic reported a new web effort "Unsafe Drivers" for reporting what we've been talking about here. The site is operated in AZ, but has national scope. The AZ Republic article itself: The website: Also, Phoenix Police have a citizen reporting system: The more detailed and complete a report is, the more likely it is to be effective [I'll forward (offline) a report I made as a bicyclist to anyone requesting it]. My 2 cents #2: The Autobaun was mentioned since it has no "official" limit. I remember driving one in 1974 and seeing quite a number of billboards saying, in effect, Are you sure 130 kmh is Safe? Note that 130kph is about 81mph. Besides "reasonable and proper" is enforced there, just as here (and in Montana which only recently adopted a limit). The dangers are the rudeness: cutting across lanes, trying to beat the pack (there is no "head of the line"), impeding traffic (see my rant below). My 2 cents #3: The reason you see so few tickets being written for the above is that we have so few officers in AZ. They are spending all their time at or traveling to accident sites. My rant: When a jerko weaves and cuts off other drivers to gain a few seconds, they are doing the "work". When a self-satisfied driver impedes traffic, s/he forces all other drivers to do the "work" of getting around them. I say equally rude and selfish. I picked this up in "Defensive Driving"!
