Package management - apt is hard to beat. I find debian strikes a nice balance between automation and power - I can do things my own way if I want, but if I just want to install a program with the default options, apt-get is my best friend. I recognize that there are several package management systems with Slackware, but I like the standardization of debian. I've run Mandrake, Suse, Red Hat, Debian, and Slackware during my Linux experience, and I've come to prefer Debian for my own use, though I have no major problem with any of the others.
