Well, I am not a stickler about this point but I do want to encourage Linux or other FS/OSS based jobs as opposed to those related only with closed source tools. PLUG is a LINUX group, after all. The purpose of PLUG is to advocate, help and expand the use of Linux and other FS/OSS software. Helping people find jobs for purely closed enviornments does not fit PLUG's purpose, IMO. Platform-neutral stuff is always welcome as it it can run on FS/OSS and many projects based on such technologies are FS/OSS too. > I'm sure you get way more eyeballs on the list, but you can also put > announcements on the PLUG web site. > http://plug.phoenix.az.us/ Yes, this is another avenue. > We are not against folks getting jobs doing Windows (or MVS 390, or > whatever). See: From a pratical standpoint, many people, including myself, use closed tools in closed environments every day. The FS/OSS economic base is not yet large enough to support large scale employment within it. That is changing, though. And I like to see PLUG help it along. Disclaimer: Again, all the above is my opinion, not an official PLUG statement of policy. Discussion of these issues once in a while is a good thing. I certainly welcome the different points of veiw.
