Inserting my completely unwarranted research (i thought this was interesting, so i did a little reading)... China is still handled by APNIC, which has a very specific allocation of IP space to work with: http://www.apnic.org/info/reports/annual_reports/1997/resource_status.html APNIC does not provide strict guidance about the allocation of ip space to China, so it's likely to be spread across all of APNIC's blocks: 61.0.0.0/8 169.208.0.0/13 210.0.0.0/7 202.0.0.0/7 Incidentally, CNNIC has applied to APNIC for recognition as a National Internet Registry (NIR) for China: http://www.cnnic.net.cn/html/Dir/2003/12/12/1975.htm However, so far the response from APNIC has been that CNNIC: "did not meet the criteria (i.e., obtain a "rough consensus" of the Internet community in the country in question and/or represent the government of the country in question directly) for the delegation to occur prior to the end of 1997." More than you (& I) wanted to know, I'm sure. ;-) ...Kevin --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
