It is a good thought.

This was roughly my goal except I thought I could take an old laptop computer, 
remove it from the case and build it into a picture frame.  The screen 
quality was not good enough for the old laptop I currently have.

And, since budget is limited (big high school band trip this year), I really 
don't have the funds to by new or decent used equipment.  Thus, I am 
currently entertaining the use of a standard 15" monitor (that I already 
have) with a low powered computer motherboard (that I already have) and hide 
it all in one of the "cubbies" of the entertainment center.

Thanks for the pointer.  That frame looks nice!
