Sorry to be of no help here Alan, but be sure to post your results as 
you get to them. Someone at the ASULUG Installfest had a similar problem 
today trying to load slack 10.0 on an older thinkpad. The install disk 
would boot, but the installer couldn't then find the source cd, which it 
had just booted from. Peculiar to say the least. We chalked it up to a 
deficient disk. Could be something else though.
