Some of my packages got updated about a month or so ago and system sounds have not been working (like mail notification and the startup sounds), all other sounds seem to work. I just now am investigating this problem (I am running KDE). So I click the 'K' menu and then 'Settings' and then 'Control Center' and finally 'Sound and Multimedia'. This goes w/o a problem. However when I click 'System Notification' Control Center crashes. I do not know which package to apt-get to fix this (I'm sure it has been fixed) so I have to ask you all. As a side note: all of the other items I can select under 'Sound and Multimedia' can be selected w/o a crash so I feel this is likely the problem. -- <:-)Mike(-:> bmike1@1[bmike1]$ sudo apt-get install controlcenter Reading Package Lists...
