Being probably MORE of a newbie than you. I have no clue what hex number it creates. Somewhere in the back of my mind, from way too long ago, I think I remember something about both control and alt being sorta similiar to the shift key in that they alter whatever the following keystoke sends as a number. I too was surprised that crlt-alt-del was/is coded as crtlaltdel in linux on that line. Oh, well, just a newboo here 'opening foot inserting mouth'. Please don't be offended by what I wrote, I didn't have a clue as to how 'puter savvy you are.
