You mentioned your windows disk is slave and linux disk is master; are you sure /dev/hdf is pointing to the windows hd?

If it is pointing to the right disk, then I believe you will also need to append the following lines to your other=/dev/hdf1 section.

 other=/dev/hdf1
 	label="Windows"
+	table=/dev/hdf
+	map-drive = 0x80
+	to = 0x81
+	map-drive = 0x81
+	to = 0x80
