For situations where a full HD installation is not feasible, a run-from-CD version of Linux, such as Mepis, can be very useful. I have such a situation, but would like to switch from the default KDE desktop to Gnome. The scenario would probably be something like: 1. log on as the default user (demo in the case of Mepis) 2. run a script--probably from floppy or a flash drive 3. log out & back in again with the new environment I've got a couple of ideas I'm going to try, but they are not particularly elegant or simple. Does any one have a good solution or possibly is able to point me to some good material I can read that might help? -mj- --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
