Correct. Each LPIC level requires 2 exams. Sun used to also do this for their Certified Solaris Admin cert but I'm not sure if they still do (mine if from Solaris 7). HP only requires 1 exam for HP-UX. Each exam for LPIC-1 is $100 at Prometric (www.2test.com). http://www.lpi.org/en/lpic.html KevinM -----Original Message----- From: plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us [mailto:plug-discuss-admin@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us]On Behalf Of Robert Ambrose Sent: Monday, July 12, 2004 12:12 To: plug-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us Subject: Re: Which Certification? I may be wrong, but I'm under the impression that if you're going for LPIC-1 your going to have to take two exams and for LPIC-2 you're going to have to take two additional exams. I haven't looked at the cost of the exams or into the Linux+ cert. FWIW, RHCE seems to be the most respected of the present Linux certs. I see that SuSE is getting the cert bandwagon (no surprise, being Novel). The SuSE certs have LPIC-1 or LPIC-2 as a prerequisite. rna On Sun, 2004-07-11 at 18:35, Jerry Davis wrote: > The company I work for wants all consultants to be "certified" > I want to do a linux certification. > > Anyone have experience with Linux certifications? > I have seen RHCE, Linux+, and LPI. > Since I think that I might be on my own $$$ wise for a "linux" certification, > RHCE is waaay too expensive.
