Hi all: I have been away from the list for a long time. I am still a newbie. I really just want to stay at the desktop. So sue me. :-) I freshly installed Mepis (as recommended months ago at a west-side PLUG meeting -- thank you, Mr. Mepis Advocate) and although mepis.org says it should work with most 802.11(b) cards, and mentions D-Link as a good choice, my system does not seem to recognize the card at all. I know virtually nothing at the command line. I see linux drivers out there on the D-Link site, but am reluctant to try to follow "generic" instructions. Mepis seems highly configured right out of the can, and I don't want to screw it up. The forums on mepis.org seem divided between those for whom Wi-fi just popped right up on one hand, and on the other, hopeless forlorn losers like me who posted 3 months ago and have "0 replies." (If I get it working, I will post back there and be a hero to those poor people). Is anyone out there a Mepis expert (I know there are deep Debian people out there). Could you kindly step me through troubleshooting this? I am guessing that I either lack a driver, or have mine wrongly configured. Many thanks -- Craig --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
