From my experience installing Gentoo ( works great now that it's done), it took me two weeks non-stop to fully install Gentoo. It takes a long, long time. Is there enough time in the installfest for something that long. I'm sure it speeds things up if you've got the most current hardware, but I would assume by not that much. Everything has to be compiled from scratch ( kernel, xfree, kde, gnome, any app). Not to deter anyone from trying, but it's a REAL headache....until it's finished. :P ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alexander Henry" To: Sent: Wednesday, June 16, 2004 11:14 AM Subject: Re: Install gentoo > On Wed, 16 Jun 2004 0:04:18 -0400, wrote: > > > I have downloaded and created cd's for three gentoo disks > > 1. gentoo-2004.1 minimal install disk > > 2. gentoo-2004.1 universal install disk > > 3. package-2004.1-athlon-xp disk.
