I ran 'apropos filesystem' and umount2 was one of the outputs. I wondered what that was so.... to google I go! In google I found my answer. 'As part of unmounting, umount2 syncs the filesystem,' says google. But I wonder what is snymcing a filesystem. To google I go! There I discovert that`sync' ensures everything in memory is written to disk. But I found it on the web so I just wanted to be sure my information is correct. I also want to share what I'm learning! -- <:-)Mike(-:> This message has been scanned for viruses by the VEI Internet Automatic Email Spam and Virus Scanner, and is believed to be free of spam or viruses.
