Would not an inexpensive switch (not to be confused with a hub) meet this objective? This is my approach for a personal network of a Win XP, a Win 2k and a Linux (file server mostly) on my side of the switch with the Corporate network providing DHCP (etc.) on the other side. Once the switch finds the address of my three computers, it sends their traffic directly to the appropriate computer without bothering the corporate network. You would only need one NIC, in each computer, assuming they would handle your traffic and the Debian box (and the MS AD box for that matter) could access the outside world, through the switch, when appropriate.
