I know the Orinoco cards work with Airsnort/kismet as there is a patch for the 
orinoco cards to give it a monitor mode.  Also the cards have an external 
connector allowing one to attach a better antenna for sniffing, or an 
amplifier/antenna for larger distance coverage.
