It just tried xneko from pkgsrc and it didn't build under Linux. I tried oneko from pkgsrc and it built fine. It didn't automatically include the library rpath though, but "LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib oneko" worked for me. I now have a sleeping cat on my screen. I am using oneko-1.1b from ftp://uiarchive.uiuc.edu/pub/ftp/ftp.x.org/R5contrib/ ftp://sunsite.doc.ic.ac.uk/packages/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/x11/x.org/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.sunet.se/pub/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://sunsite.sut.ac.jp/pub/archives/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://sunsite.icm.edu.pl/pub/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.task.gda.pl/mirror/ftp.x.org/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.ntua.gr/pub/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://sunsite.cnlab-switch.ch/mirror/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.cica.es/pub/X/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.unicamp.br/pub/X11/R5contrib/ ftp://ftp.x.org/R5contrib/ plus oneko-1.2.diff.gz from http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA004959/oneko/ (also see http://www.bsddiary.net/oneko/) It built for me using imake. I will put this on my sons' computer too. Joseph, thanks for your posting. I am glad that others have their children using open source too :) Jeremy C.
