moin, moin, maybe I should mention a couple of different drugs as well, just to see what it does to SPAM filters ;-). Anyway, Thurman over at SCC has a grant to build out some services for bioinformatics at the college. He will be building a mini-cluster and is excited about bioknoppix and ClusterKnoppix. http://bioknoppix.hpcf.upr.edu/ http://bofh.be/clusterknoppix/ He also needs some classes/training on a few items. He wants to see some done as part of his UNIX II class and some done as follow-up seminars after the semester is done. Some of the topics he'd really like to have: * MTAs: sendmail, postfix and another one * filesystems: ext2, ext3, reisser, xfs, tmpfs * source code control systems: cvs, rcs, subversion * apache admin * ftp/telnet/ssh/scp * Free Software databases Other interests: collaboration tools: mailman, sourceforge, wiki, /code, jabber/IM He wants/needs the presentations to take place at SCC. Starting at the end of March through the beginning of May he would like presentations Mon nights in his UNIX II class. Some of these are topics AZOTO needs to have in its stable of available presentations. I'd like to see them produced as a collaborative effort and given at PLUG meetings as well. Thurman can use grant money to pay for the training. I'd like AZOTO to provide the training, but it's also an option for consultants to provide the training directly. Contact me if you're interested in helping out. As I say, consulting is an option. However, I expect the end presentation to be available via a useful Free Documentation license. ciao, der.hans -- # https://www.LuftHans.com/ http://www.AZOTO.org/ # If determining good culture is left up to busybodies and politicians, # we will be left with culture fit only for busybodies and politicians. # -- Jeff Taylor, Reason --------------------------------------------------- PLUG-discuss mailing list - PLUG-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us To subscribe, unsubscribe, or to change you mail settings: http://lists.PLUG.phoenix.az.us/mailman/listinfo/plug-discuss
