They purchases enough parts for a limited run - say 40,000 cases, motherboards, processors, hard drives, floppy drives, cd rom, etc. and produce, package sell and ship and that is the end of the product run. The quality of each different 'model' is really dependent upon the parts that they purchased for that 'run' I have thought that by and large, for the amount that you pay for an eMachines system, the quality is actually pretty good. The issue being of course, the amount that you pay. Generally, all modems that come with these hardware bundles are going to be win-modems - it's about the money. and lastly, immediately after I sent the trick question comment - another metaphor came into my mind...at closing time, all the women look pretty good.
