Older models but the newer models I've used work great with Knoppix, so I can imagine what they would do with a normal distro.=20 I've never been a fan of Dell, but I broke down and bought one. Inspiron 1100. I got a good machine for the money. I'm very happy with it. I haven't had any driver problems, though I haven't messed with the modem yet, but supposedly it works. My Thinkpads are both fairly thin, and my Dell is pretty thick, I've noticed how much more I prefer my Thinkpads due to the thickness of the machine. I don't use external keyboards, only the laptop keyboard, and after banging away for 5 or 6 hours straight, my wrists start to hurt. So I would recommend a thin laptop. Of course, I'll give you a great deal on my 2 month old Dell! nathan On Thu, 2004-02-05 at 11:27, AZ Pete wrote: > Hi All, >=20 > I managed to convince my boss that I need a new laptop.
