--=-3MKkzuLC+FA4hI5WH3Jt Content-Type: text/plain Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable I am playing with the color schemes that knoppix uses when outputing message while booting. CRE=3D"^M^[[K" NORMAL=3D"^[[0;39m" #Normal Color RED=3D"^[[1;31m" #Failure GREEN=3D"^[[1;32m" #Success YELLOW=3D"^[[1,33m" #Unused BLUE=3D"^[[1;34m" #System Messages MAGENTA=3D"^[[1;35m" #Description CYAN=3D"^[[1;36m" #Unused WHITE=3D"^[[1;37m" #Unused But I'm failing somewhere. I tried=20 echo "${BLUE}Hello there.${NORMAL}" But, it doesn't work. it comes back=20 echo "^[[1;31mHello there.^[[0;39m How do I make this work? Obviously I've never used ansi colors before. Thanks for any input. --=20 Nathan England Arcanum Linux ! nathan at the-arcanum.org jabber id: linuxjunkie@jabber.earth.li "A free society is one where it is safe to be unpopular." --Adlai Stevenson Registered Linux User #189789, Machine #106603 www.sincerechoice.org --=-3MKkzuLC+FA4hI5WH3Jt Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBAGYIoBSK6uOjZg9gRAlKzAKCFOt5jwfccJ8EmBWBPlCrH84cprgCfdK5E o8wVWVyP9F88nQPWaz7SFeQ= =xuZZ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-3MKkzuLC+FA4hI5WH3Jt--
