Silly question, but is the NIC set properly in relation to the hub/switch? I've seen big differences when setting the NIC properties to match the switch. For less expensive switches, 100 Mb/half duplex seems to be the way to go. Leaving at 'Auto Select' causes the NIC to run at a fraction of the speed. Perhaps the MS opsys's are automatically handling the setting better than the default 'nix config? - Alan ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "technomage" To: Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2004 1:53 PM Subject: Re: wierdness with 100BaseT interface in linux. > ok, > I took the last couple of days to troubleshoot this issue. > > its OS specific. > > Basically, the motherboard (an ECS Elitegroup k7vta3 pcb version 8.0) will not > work properly with the lan in the following OS(s): > > 1. linux (any Flavor) > 2.
