I didn't mean to say PDC. I am just wondering if the samba server must be part of a domain (as opposed to just a workgroup) in order to host roaming profiles? I can get the worm2K client to create a profile folder on the samba server at logon time, but the perms don't match up. The client is logging on to the samba server as smbuser 'shari' and creating a folder. However, because the folder is owned by SERVER\shari instead of the local CLIENT\shari account, it refuses to use it (even though their logon credentials are identical). ...Kevin
