I just dropped Qwest for Cox for cable, internet and phone. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes with Cox and the tech support people have been helpful. I have also used their on line live tech support chat with good results too. Usually the Qwest VDSL internet was a bit faster than Cox but not always and Cox's is $10 a month less and both are faster than anyone's DSL. And for two phone lines with lots of bells and whistles on them Cox is lower cost than Qwest. My total cost went down between $10 and $20 a month and I get cable TV on all my TV's not only 3 like with Qwest. -----Original Message----- From: Dartagnon [mailto:dartagnon@thereprayer.com] Sent: Tuesday, December 16, 2003 7:33 PM To: plug-discuss@lists.plug.phoenix.az.us Subject: RE: A good deal I will NEVER give my business to Cox again. I have never regretted the change for a moment. My local channels are much clearer on the satellite than they ever were with Cox. Plus, their customer service is absolutely horrible. It usually takes 45 minutes to get ahold of a CSR, and, when you do, they are semi-clueless. The last dealings I had with them was when I sold my cable modem on Ebay to a guy who lives here in Phoenix. He called and said that though my Cox account was closed, it still showed the cable modem on my account and asked if I would call them and have it taken off of the account so that he could add it to his. Forty-five minutes on hold later, I finally got ahold of a CSR who completed the transaction. In my apartment complex we can have the small dishes. When I moved in in December 2000, there was 1 dish. Now, about 20% of the apartments have small dishes. That is a good barometer of Cox. At the ..10/min rates posted on the Cox web site, I'm left with 129 minutes of long distance until my bill is equal to yours. Granted, I still have Cox controlling some of what I can do, but unless a person regularly makes long distance calls I think Cox is a better value (I can't believe I just said that). I will NEVER give my business to Cox again.  I was even an installer for them for awhile.  IMHO, they are the worst company to deal with in the valley.
