The WorkPad c505 is the same as the Palm m505c. It has a USB cradle. I can hotsync from Windows 2000 (the computer is a dual boot machine). I can also get the Infrared port to access the WorkPad in Windows 2000. So, I am pretty sure the hardware is working - it is just a matter of software! USB Windows Device Manager says I have an Intel 82801 CA/CAM Universal Host Controller - 2482 I have tied both KPilot and JPilot and neither program sees the USB port. I ran usbview and it shows a root hub and nothing else. Nothing happens when I plug in the usb cable or when I hit the hotsync button on the palm pilot. Infrared Windows Device Manager says I have a SMC Fast Infrared Port running on an Intel 82801 CAM LPC interface controller I setup the IR port in the bios as COM2, then COM3, and then COM4. I also tried both Fast and (slow?? ) settings in the bios but neither worked with the information from the Linux HOWTO for Infrared and the palm OS. I read through the Linux HOWTO for Infrared (http://howto.pilot-link.org/irdasync/ca.html) and tried the following as root: modprobe irda modprobe ircomm modprobe ircomm-tty irattach /dev/ttyS1 -s All the commands returned without any error. However, I did not get any indication on the Workpad that it was receiving a signal from the laptop as the HOWTO said I would. When I tried killall -9 irattach the error message said the irattach was not attached to anything. Thanks for any suggestions you may have!
