ok, well, i've had it with kde and am going back to gnome.  i have 
experimented with it for a few weeks now (seems like months). for the 
basic desktop stupid user (/yo/),  it is not as friendly as gnome. also, 
it has independently crashed about 3 times now.  this last time it just 
kept making konquerer windows open up. got up to 32 before i was able to 
shut it down.

so if you're setting up linux for your mom, give her a break and use 
gnome ;-)
