Red Hat Linux is evidently a thing of the past Reading through and it's many various pages, it's not inherently obvious the changes that are under way at Red Hat. There has been a fair amount of discussion on the shrike-list (Red Hat 9 mail list) and perhaps I am a bit slow on the uptake but I can see for myself, Debian is looking better all the time. I think a post by Jesse Keating summed it up very well... I am not going to suggest that Red Hat is dropped from InstallFest - and time will tell how this all is going to shake out but there are some things evident... Red Hat Linux, Workstation/Professional which tended to retail for $59/$179 are not going to be offered in stores for the next version. Red Hat will apparently create/maintain the core distribution but the rest of the stuff will apparently be community maintained. Think I am going to set up Debian for the first time this weekend ;-) Craig
